G. E. Wall constructed the conjugacy classes of finite general linear groups $GL(n,q)$ and their certain subgroups. This has been implemented in the computer algebra system GAP. The aim of this talk is to introduce and to clarify the revised version of Wall's results, and then apply them to finite general unitary groups $GU(n,q)$ by parametrizing the conjugacy classes with some certain partitions and self reciprocal polynomials. Moreover, we develop and implement computer programs in GAP for $GU(n,q)$ and $SU(n,q)$.
