„Quantum mock modular forms arising from eta-theta functions“
Prof. Amanda Folsom, Amherst College, MA, USA

Quantum modular and mock modular forms are relatively new subjects which have been of interest in number theory, and have also shown applications to other areas including combinatorics and representation theory. In this talk, we will first discuss some background and recent applications of these functions. We will then discuss ongoing joint work with Garthwaite, Swisher, and Treneer, in which we construct quantum modular and mock modular forms in a natural way from classical modular forms which are simultaneously eta quotients and theta functions. As corollaries, we establish some curious algebraic identities involving finite q-hypergeometric sums.
