„Recent progress towards Conjectures on Unlikely Intersection“
Prof. Philipp Habegger, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt

In the past decade Boris Zilber and Richard Pink formulated vast conjectures in diophantine geometry. These generalize statements such as Faltings' Theorem, formerly known as the Mordell Conjecture and the André-Oort Conjecture, which is now known to hold under the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis thanks to work of Klingler, Yafaev, and Ullmo. Zilber and Pink's Conjectures remain open and are sometimes referred to as Conjectures on Unlikely Intersections. In my talk I will give a basic introduction to these conjectures, speak about some recent results and touch upon methods involved in the proofs.
