I will discuss some computations of images of Galois representations attached to abelian varieties. Applications to Mumford-Tate, Hodge and Tate conjecture (for abelian varieties over number fields) will be mentioned, as well as few arithmetical consequences. The talk is planed to be of expository nature, although some recent results will be described.
