Galois theories for transcendental extensions are present in many variations. A whole bunch of them are called Picard-Vessiot-theories, like the Galois theory of linear differential equations and the Galois theory of linear difference equation. Although these Picard-Vessiot theories look very similar, the proofs for the main theorems always rely on the special structure of the various settings. In this talk, I will present a categorical setting which covers all these Picard-Vessiot theories, and which allows to give the proofs in a unified manner.
