Picard Fuchs equations and beyond

In this workshop we will study two articles of Si Li, Bong Lian and Shing-Tung Yau.

The first article

• Picard-Fuchs Equations for Relative Periods and Abel-Jacobi Map for Calabi-Yau Hypersurfaces
  S. Li, B. Lian, S.-T. Yau, Amer. J. Math. 134 (2012), no. 5, 1345–1384.

deals with inhomogeneous Picard-Fuchs equations which turn up in mirror symmetry for open strings.

The second article

• Period Integrals of CY and General Type Complete Intersections
  B. Lian, S.-T. Yau, Invent. Math. 191 (2013), no. 1, 35–89.

shows how to construct regular holonomic D-modules which govern period integrals for a broad class of families of algebraic varieties.
