FG-DFG Workshop: MATCH

$\operatorname{Gal}(\bar{\mathbb{Q}}_p/\mathbb{Q}_p)$ as a geometric fundamental group

May 4–8, 2015 • Neckarbischofsheim

Dates

Date: May 4–8, 2015
Location: Schlosshotel Neckarbischofsheim
Organizers: Sujatha Ramdorai, Peter Schneider, Otmar Venjakob

Timetable

The timetable for the workshop is now available.

Topic

The aim of the workshop is to discuss and understand Weinstein's article with similar title concerning a theorem suggested by Scholze. It will be organized as a study group similar as an Oberwolfach Arbeitsgemeinschaft, i.e., the talks have to be given by volunteers among the participants, based upon a program to be sent out by the organizers in January 2015.

There will be introductory talks about the techniques used in Weinstein's article.

Spring school "p-adic Arithmetic" in Essen

An important ingredient in Weinstein's work is the theory of the fundamental curve of p-adic Hodge Theory à la Fargues/Fontaine. The Spring School on p-adic Arithmetic in Essen offers a mini-course on this topic, which may be a good preparation.

The workshop will take place on May 4–8, 2015 (arrival on Sunday, departure on Friday afternoon) at the Schlosshotel Neckarbischofsheim near Heidelberg. The MATCH and the DFG-Forschergruppe Symmetrie, Geometrie und Arithmetik will cover housing costs (mainly for two-bed rooms) including breakfast and lunch. We may also be able to cover travelling costs, but mainly for PhD students and postdocs. The number of participants is limited to 40.

Please apply with this form for participation in the workshop. Post-docs and students may also apply for support concerning their travel expenses. Shortly after the deadline we will confirm whether you can participate and to which extent we may reimburse your trip costs.

Application deadline: February 15, 2015

The program for the workshop is now available.

Please use this page to choose a talk that you would like to give, together with at least one alternative – otherwise please explain why this is the only possible choice for you under ‘comments’ below. In case you already have found a possible partner (this applies over all for PA, PS, E, MR) you can suggest this under ‘comments’ below, too. The shortcuts for the talks in ths form are as in the program.
Please apply first for participation before choosing a talk.

Directions

To get to Neckarbischofsheim, you can use public transport. There is an hourly service from Heidelberg main station which takes about one hour. The exact connection may be different each hour, mostly you will have to change twice. There is a precise list of all the available connections on Sunday, May 3rd, including details about where you have to change. The last train that allows you to reach Neckarbischofsheim leaves Heidelberg at 6:55 pm.

If you want to travel later using public transport, you can still reach Neckarbischofsheim but you will have to use a special taxi for part of the trip. You have to order this taxi at least one hour before it leaves using the phone number +4972613777. Here is a precise list of all the available connections with taxi on Sunday, May 3rd, after 7 pm, again including details about where you have to change. There you can see exactly when and where the taxi will leave (the product called "ALT 7960" is the taxi).

You can also look up a connection by yourself at the website of Deutsche Bahn. The destination station is "Neckarbischofsheim Stadt".

The price for a single train/bus ticket is 6.80€. You can buy it at Heidelberg main station. The price with the special taxi may be slightly higher. The price for a taxi for the complete way from Heidelberg main station to Neckarbischofsheim will be around 65€.

From the station in Neckarbischofsheim you have to walk around 500m to the hotel. You can see the way here. If you arrive with the special taxi mentioned above, use this map since it will drop you at a slightly different place.

Here you can download the manuscripts for the talks.
