Right-angled Artin groups are a class of groups that range from free groups to free abelian groups and their automorphism groups interpolate between Aut(F_n) and GL(n,Z). In the 1980’s, Culler and Vogtmann introduced a space, known as “outer space,” that has been central to the study of automorphism groups of free groups. We introduce an analogue of outer space for more general right-angled Artin groups. (Joint work with K. Vogtmann and N. Stambaugh)
